Description
The crush cell is designed to test the crushing resistance and degradation characteristics of proppants used in hydraulic fracturing operations. API defines crush resistance as the weight percent of tested proppant that passes the smallest sieve from the original specified size distributions. Piston dimensions are 2.0x3.5in (50.8x89mm). The test is conducted as per standards API RP 19C and ISO 13503-2 under ambient temperature at different closure stresses up to 15,000 psi.
