Description
The SSP-700 determines the permeability of a rock core sample in accordance with Darcy’s Law. A controlled flow of pore fluid is injected through the core using a pore-pressure pump to determine permeability. The sample is enclosed in a jacket, placed inside a core holder, and subjected to the required confining pressure. Fluid is introduced at the inlet face, while a back-pressure regulator maintains a constant outlet pressure to ensure stable test conditions. The pressure drop across the sample is monitored using two differential pressure transducers: a low-range sensor for high-permeability samples and a high-range sensor for low-permeability samples. This dual-sensor setup ensures accurate measurements over a permeability range of approximately 0.01 millidarcy (md) to 1 darcy. The testing system consists of a liquid permeameter control cabinet, a pore-pressure injection pump, and a hydrostatic core holder with a diameter of either 1 inch or 1.5 inches.
